What We Believe

Inspiration of the Bible.

We believe the Bible is from God  (2 Timothy 3:16).

We believe the Bible is not from man nor consist of  man-made mistakes (2 Peter 1:20-21).

Authority of the Bible

We  believe the Bible is the authority in one's life (Colossians 3:17). We  believe decisions should be made based on the Bible (1 Timothy 1:5 -  "good conscience").

Baptism

We believe  baptism is for the forgiveness of sins (Acts 2:38). We believe baptism  is necessary for salvation (1 Peter 3:21; Mark 16:15-16). We believe  baptism is a water burial (Colossians 2:12; Acts 8:35-38).

What we believe

Additional Information

The Lord's Supper

We believe the Lord's Supper consists of  unleavened bread and the fruit of the vine (Matthew 26:28). We believe  the Lord's Supper is to be taken every Sunday (Acts 20:7).

Giving

We  believe giving is to be done every Sunday (1 Corinthians 16:1-2) just  like the Lord's Supper. We believe each person decides how much they  want to give back to God (2 Corinthians 9:7). We do not force nor expect  visitors to give.

We  believe the New Testament teaches that a group of men are to oversee the  local congregation. This group can be called elders (Titus 1:5),  pastors (Ephesians 4:11), or overseers (Acts 20:28). These men watch over  the people's souls (Hebrews 13:17) and shepherd the flock (1 Peter  5:2). Also, in the New Testament, this group has more than one man in it  (Titus 1:5; Philippians 1:5). Therefore, the preacher and the pastor  are not the same thing.

Visiting

We Sing

It is vocal signing without the  accompaniment of any mechanical instrument of music. The reason that we  sing vocally is because this is what the New Testament authorizes (Ephesians  5:19). You are welcome to sing along with us, if you wish, or you are  welcome to just listen.

We Pray

Prayers  are offered to God in the name of Jesus Christ. Our prayers consist of  "supplications, prayers, intercessions and giving of thanks...for all  men." (2 Timothy 2:1). We pray for those who are ill, those who are  traveling, our political leaders, and those who keep us safe. We pray  for God's approval on the things that we do and for wisdom to do the  right things.

We Partake of the Lord's Supper

We  partake of the Lord's Supper which consists of unleavened bread and the  fruit of the vine (grape juice). This is what Jesus gave His disciples  as a memorial before His betrayal and death (Matthew 26:26-29). We  partake of this each Sunday for we see this was the practice in the  church during the 1st century AD (Acts 20:7).

We Contribute to Our Means

This is a  free-will offering made by the members here for the purpose of funding, the working that we are authorized to do (1 Corinthians 16:1-12). We do  not solicit nor expect you as our visitor to give into this offering.  You may, if you wish, but we do not require it of our visitors. We  desire your presence, not your money.

A sermon will  be preached on a topic taken from the Bible. Just as Paul encouraged  Timothy to "preach the word" (2 Timothy 4:2), we do that today, also. We have  some Bibles available so that you may follow along, or you may bring  yours from home. We encourage you to search the scriptures to prove the  truth of the things preached (Acts 17:10-11). If you wish, either at the  close of the lesson, or after we are dismissed, you may ask any  questions that you may have about the lesson.
